Demo Site: ReviewAZON and the Hybrid News Theme

I’ve had several questions about how ReviewAZON works with other themes and one of those questions was about the Hybrid News theme.

I’ve created an “out of the box” WordPress blog using the Hybrid News theme just to show everyone what it looks like. These are the default templates that ship with ReviewAZON and it looks really good I think.

You can view the Hybrid Theme with ReviewAZON plug-in here:

    Wonderful.
This is how my site would look like.
    Expecting your email soon.

That looks great right out of the box. This is going to be a huge benefit to my niche sites. The only thing I noticed is that when I hover over any of the amazon links it displays %%TITLE% so I’m assuming that’s a quick fix in the template files or is it just because it’s a demo?

It is broken from the category page

got there and click on a product at the sidebar.

    Good Point Jay.
Ya…we sure need to get a fix for that issue.

One more little modification that I would like to have:
buyers don’t go to Amazon clicking the TITLE of the post from a post page.

    For example:
    http://tax.deals-for-less.com/?p=28

TaxCut 2008 Federal+State+efile [DOWNLOAD]- if you click on the title, it should only stay at my site.

Looks great! I am ready to purchase…

Thanks for the comments. So let me address some of the items you mentioned:

As you can see, I missed a % on the end of %%TITLE% as it should look like this: %%TITLE%%. Something to think about when you are building your own templates!

Links in the sidebar broken, yeah that is a bug and I am fixing it now.

On the title links in the main product pages or single post page, the default template did not have a main title link like the one at the Tax Deals site because I did not add a line for that. You will most likely want to make a template change on this page to remove the original post title link and add one to your main template page.

As an example, I have added a line to the main template and left the original post title link in the page. It is a bit redundant as you can see.

Just to confirm, I did remove the post title link from the Flexibility theme on the Tax site and added my post title link in the main template.

Of course that is the power and flexibility of having templates. You can basically add anything you want and make it look exactly how you want it to look.

    Brad,
the way you speak sounds real simple. But I am not really know nothing about coding. I am hoping that the support forum with help from you and numerous other users would be enough to achieve to what we want.

Tomorrow is the last day of the week and I am desperately waiting for the grand release.

Posted By: Brad On: April 23, 2009 At: 11:23 pm

I can show you how to remove that really easy. In fact, I like this template so much (thanks for sharing the link) that I will make some mods to the theme and share those if you are interested.

The forum is setup and ready to go and now I am doing some last minute testing and tweaking. I expect lots of questions and so we can share thoughts in the support forum.

Since each WordPress theme is different in how it displays HTML I am sure there will be those who will create their own ReviewAZON templates specifically for a particular theme and share those with other members. I plan on starting some in the next few weeks and making them available to members as well.

I’ll be sending out the email tomorrow afternoon.

I knew you would love the theme and some mods from your part would be wonderful to many hybrid theme users like myself. Well, I must say you have been so far very prompt with all of our queries and questions which is another very positive side of ReviewAZON for sure.

Hope to see the forum in action.
