ReviewAZON 1.1 has been officially released. This version has quite a few features/enhancements and is now compliant with the Amazon Advertising API changes that go in effect on August 15th 2009.

The newest version of ReviewAZON, version 1.1.0 , is now in customer testing and set to release in the next couple of weeks. This release has numerous fixes and enhancements driven primarily from customers participating in the ReviewAZON support forum and requirements from Amazon’s Product Advertising API changes announced in May.

Here are some of the highlights from the upcoming release:

1. Updated to comply with the new Amazon Product Advertising API changes for signed web services calls – Starting on August 15th any application that uses the Amazon Product Advertising API (formerly Amazon Associate API) will have to make signed calls to the service. This requires updates existing applications and plug-ins to make this work properly. ReviewAZON is now updated and compliant with these requirements.
2. Integration with PhpOStock, the Premier Overstock.com Affiliate Plug-in for Wordpress – You can now use PhpOStock short codes in the ReviewAZON templating system allowing you to embed listings from Overstock.com in your product posts. This works just like the eBay listing integration using PhpBayPro.
3. Integrated Product Click Tracking and Reporting – You can now track customer product click throughs to Amazon using the integrated click tracking technology. You get detailed reporting that allows you to manage your product placement and promotion without having to guess which products are performing well on your site. You also get a Wordpress Dashboard widget that easliy shows you the top 5 performing products on your blog.
4. Multi Amazon Tracking ID Support – Most Amazon products only let you associate one tracking id to all of the product that you promote via the Amazon Product Advertising API. ReviewAZON now supports multiple tracking IDs so that you can assign different Amazon tracking ids to different products allowing you to better keep track of product performance and commissions.
5. Randomized Bulk Product Posting Capabilities – You now have the option of having ReviewAZON randomly post your Amazon product reviews over a span of time instead of at a certain interval. This allows your product posts to appear naturally added over time.
6. Integration with the Vendiva Price Comparison Service – You can now use the Vendiva Price Comparison service within the ReviewAZON templating system. I have had lots of questions over the past couple of days about my demo sites not being indexed in Google and the other search engines. There is a very simple answer and it it is because I don’t want them to be indexed. I use these sites for PPC (Pay Per Click) traffic and I will eventually set these sites up for normal SEO traffic at some point, but right now I don’t have the bandwidth to do so and I don’t want these sites to be indexed until I can set them up the way that I want them.

There is a setting in Wordpress in settings -> privacy section that gives you the option to have your site indexed or not. The option that I chose was I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors . This creates a robots.txt file with Disallow / turned on. No search engine will index the site with this present.

When you are setting up a site from scratch, this is an excellent way for you to get it the way you want before you open it up for indexing. It is a pain to have to go back and put in redirects to indexed pages after the fact, especially if you change the permalinks to your posts.

Since my last post, I have had quite a few emails and comments on how to create Pay Per Click (PPC) landing pages using ReviewAZON and FlexSqueeze. I have put together a very short video on how to create these ultra simple and very powerful landing pages.

I used Photoshop to create the custom landing page header. Other than using Wordpress, ReviewAZON and FlexSqueeze, that is all I did. I think it turned out very well and you are going to be amazed at how quickly and how simple this was to create.

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of PPC and Amazon. I really love the instant feedback that I get from running PPC campaigns along with Google Analytics. Don’t get me wrong, I love SEO and free search engine traffic, but I guess it is mainly that I am impatient and love the thrill of the chase.

By now you may have heard about Ryan Grabenstein’s FlexSqueeze Wordpress templates that is the successor to the famous Flexibility 2 theme. If you haven’t seen it in action, well, you just have to visit his site and take a look.

Ok, so back to PPC. Everyone knows that it is a pain to create PPC landing pages or “squeeze” pages as it is know in internet marketing circles. It is my least thing that I like about doing PPC internet marketing. When I found out that Ryan had created a squeeze/landing page Wordpress template I was the first one to try and get a copy. I was also fired up because it was built on the Flexiblity 2 framework and that is my favorite Wordpress theme of all time.

Tonight I took some time off from ReviewAZON updates, and spent some time really looking at this theme in depth. I gotta tell you, I am digging this theme. I like it so much that I went out and bought a domain name so that I could do some testing via PPC with a landing page that I created using FlexSqueeze and ReviewAZON.

I think it took me more time to buy the domain name and create the custom header than it took me to create the page. I literally uploaded the theme, created a new Wordpress Page, selected the FlexSqueeze template from the page template dropdown and added a ReviewAZON Product Page Post to the page. Once the page was created, I uploaded my custom image and set the FlexSqueeze page to load the custom header.

That’s it. Nothing more. In just a few minutes, I had a landing page that showcased a hot Amazon product (#1 in the Camcorder Category), complete with customer reviews, and I can now send PPC traffic to and make Amazon affiliate commissions. I can also create as many pages as I want and drive target traffic to those pages as well.

I’ve had several questions about how ReviewAZON works with other themes and one of those questions was about the Hybrid News theme.
