The newest version of ReviewAZON, version 1.1.0 , is now in customer testing and set to release in the next couple of weeks. This release has numerous fixes and enhancements driven primarily from customers participating in the ReviewAZON support forum and requirements from Amazon’s Product Advertising API changes announced in May.

Here are some of the highlights from the upcoming release:

1. Updated to comply with the new Amazon Product Advertising API changes for signed web services calls – Starting on August 15th any application that uses the Amazon Product Advertising API (formerly Amazon Associate API) will have to make signed calls to the service. This requires updates existing applications and plug-ins to make this work properly. ReviewAZON is now updated and compliant with these requirements.
2. Integration with PhpOStock, the Premier Overstock.com Affiliate Plug-in for WordPress – You can now use PhpOStock short codes in the ReviewAZON templating system allowing you to embed listings from Overstock.com in your product posts. This works just like the eBay listing integration using PhpBayPro.
3. Integrated Product Click Tracking and Reporting – You can now track customer product click throughs to Amazon using the integrated click tracking technology. You get detailed reporting that allows you to manage your product placement and promotion without having to guess which products are performing well on your site. You also get a WordPress Dashboard widget that easliy shows you the top 5 performing products on your blog.
4. Multi Amazon Tracking ID Support – Most Amazon products only let you associate one tracking id to all of the product that you promote via the Amazon Product Advertising API. ReviewAZON now supports multiple tracking IDs so that you can assign different Amazon tracking ids to different products allowing you to better keep track of product performance and commissions.
5. Randomized Bulk Product Posting Capabilities – You now have the option of having ReviewAZON randomly post your Amazon product reviews over a span of time instead of at a certain interval. This allows your product posts to appear naturally added over time.
6. Integration with the Vendiva Price Comparison Service – You can now use the Vendiva Price Comparison service within the ReviewAZON templating system. Get additional sales by giving your customers price comparison options on certain products you are promoting. ReviewAZON customers get a 15% discount off the great service.
7. 4 New Template Tokens -  In addition to the other template tokens that allow you to precisely place Amazon content and data using the ReviewAZON templating system, you have 4 new pieces of data you can use. Amount Saved, Percent Saved, New From Text and Used From Text. Now show your customers how much they are saving off the retail price of the products you are promoting and also show the number and price of new and used offerings from other merchants.
8. Auto Create Product Brand Categories – You can now have ReviewAZON dynamically create a WordPress cateogry for the product you are creating via the Bulk Product Post page and the New Product Post page.
9. eBay Sidebar Widget Enhancements – There are several enhancements to the eBay sidebar widget to display eBay listings via PhpBayPro.
10. Amazon Product Accessories and Amazon Related Products Sidebar Widget Enhancements – Now the Amazon product accessories and related products widgets take on a dual role by allowing you to specify an Amazon product query to show certain products instead of the ones that Amazon reccommends.

I’ve been asked to make available for purchase some custom headers from the Flip Video squeeze page post that I did last week. I’ve created 16 variations based on the color of the Flip camcorders that are offered at amazon plus some additional color backgrounds for the White Flip. Due to overwhelming demand, I’ve added a YouTube video that shows you how easy it is to add Amazon product reviews to your blog using ReviewAZON.

I’ve had numerous emails asking to see a little of the interface and posting process. I am still tweaking and styling the interface a bit, but it is more polishing it up than anything at this point.

I’ve really tried to focus on usability in regards to the interface so that adding these reviews are a simple and straight forward process. Yes, there are lots of “power user” features in this release, but for those who are looking for the “choose a product and post” simplicity, the out of the box functionality gives you that and more.

ReviewAZON also lets you add YouTube video reviews to your posts to enhance the review experience. You can add them via the tabbed interface or embed them in your custom review template.

There are literally thousands of product review videos on just about any product imaginable available on YouTube. Now that video is becoming more and more popular, you can really enhance the user experience by adding these videos to your review product page.

You can add multiple YouTube videos via the settings tab for each post and display them by using the %%REVIEWVIDEOS%% token anywhere in your custom HTML template. Of course, you can also use the out of the box templates to display the video reviews if you wish.

ReviewAZON has affiliate program support for all the major Amazon affiliate programs. These include, United States, Canada, Germany, France, Japan and the United Kingdom.

Once you get your web services key and create your Amazon associate account id you want to use for tracking, you plug the values into the settings screen and choose the country of your affiliate program.

Amazon tracking links are automatically created for you to use in your templates that are targeted to your specific affiliate program.

That is all you need to start get commissions from those customers who visit Amazon by clicking links on your site.

One of the out of the box features ReviewAZON offers is the ability to display product review information in a tabbed interface.

More and more product review websites are going to a tabbed approach to save space. This offers your customers a very uniform and easy to navigate way to get to the product review information.

You will have the ability to create multiple tabs and assign product review information to each tab you create.

As an added bonus, you will also be able to add eBay auctions as a tab in the interface by integrating phpBayLite.

This is just another way that ReviewAZON gives you the flexibility to display data in a creative and user friendly format.

If you are an eBay affiliate and you want to add eBay auctions to your product review pages you will love this next feature.

I am offering as a bonus feature to ReviewAZON customers the ability to add eBay auctions as a sidebar widget to your review pages by integrating with phpBayLite.

phpBayLite is a free eBay auction listing plugin that you can use in your WordPress blog. I sometimes like to add auctions as a sidebar widget rather than inline in the blog post.

By simply turning on the eBay auction integration in the ReviewAZON advanced settings page and adding the sidebar widget you can activate this functionality.

A custom field is added to each review product post that feeds the widget the search information to pull back the right eBay auctions to display for each product. The default search text is the Amazon product title, but since this is saved as a custom property on the blog post, you can tweak the search text to get just the right auction results to show up for each product review post you create.

This will be offered as a free download for each ReviewAZON customer.

For those of you who like to show the product brands and price ranges I’ve included custom sidebar widgets that give you this capability.

There is also another sidebar widget included that will allow you to assign featured products to display as well.

All you have to do is create your categories and then assign the category id to the corresponding  widget.

This is a great way to give your customers alternate ways to search for the products they are looking for in an easy to use manner.

Each sidebar widget allows you to edit the widget title and assign a parent category id. When setting up the Brand and Price Range widget you will want to create a top level category and assign the various subcategories as needed.

One of the things that our beta testers really wanted more control over was the HTML output of the review post data such as customer reviews, descriptions, product details and review excerpts.

Based on that feedback, you have total control over how each section will look via custom the custom templates section of the plugin.

How does it work? Well, we give you template “tokens” that allow you to create the HTML you want and insert Amazon data into the area defined by the token.

So as an example, if you wanted to insert a product image into your template, you have three options to do so using the %%SMALLIMAGEURL%%, %%MEDIUMIMAGEURL%%, and %%LARGEIMAGEURL%% tokens.

You have a wide selection of tokens to use such as the product title, customer reviews, product description and a whole lot more.

Don’t worry if you are not very good with HTML coding as out of the box templates are there for you to use as well.
