On October 25, 2011, Amazon will be implementing new changes to its Product Advertising API. This API is the way that ReviewAZON searches for and pulls back Amazon data. There are a few significant changes in this release that will impact the way that ReviewAZON functions.
Here is a breakdown of the changes:
1) Associate Tag is now a required field. In ReviewAZON 1.6, we did not send the Associate Tag on certain requests. Changes have been made to include this in the API calls going forward.
2) Item Search Paging Changes – On October 25, 2011, the Amazon Product Advertising API will no longer return up to 400 pages of results. The new changes will limit the total pages to 10 or 100 products per search. What that means is that searches made through ReviewAZON will max out at 100 products even though there may be 1,000′s of products available.
This change will affect the ReviewAZON search screens, the Grid display option and the Product Post Queue in ReviewAZON Pro.
3) Product Offer Data Limitations: Amazon is pretty much removing almost all Offer Listing fields such as Merchant Ratings, total feedback numbers and many others. As a result, the ReviewAZON Product Comparison option will no longer be an option in ReviewAZON Pro (v.2.0).
